Remodeling FAQ | KATZ Remodeling Texas

Question 1

How do I get a free estimate?

Accepted Answer

You can book a free estimate directly on our website using the online booking form — just pick a date and time that works for you. You can also call us or send a message through the contact page. One of our licensed project managers will visit your home, assess the scope of work, and provide a detailed written estimate at no charge.

Question 2

What areas of Texas do you serve?

Accepted Answer

We serve homeowners across Texas, with crews based in Austin, Dallas–Fort Worth, Houston, and San Antonio. If you're outside these metro areas, give us a call — we may still be able to help depending on the project scope.

Question 3

How long does the estimate process take?

Accepted Answer

The on-site estimate visit typically takes 30–90 minutes depending on the size and complexity of the project. We'll walk through the space with you, discuss your goals, and answer any questions. You'll receive a written estimate within 2–3 business days after the visit.

Question 4

Do you require a deposit to get started?

Accepted Answer

Yes, we typically require a deposit before work begins — usually 10–25% of the total project cost, depending on the scope. The deposit covers materials ordering and scheduling. The remaining balance is paid in agreed-upon milestones as work progresses, with the final payment due upon project completion.

Question 5

Is KATZ Remodeling licensed and insured?

Accepted Answer

Yes. We hold a Texas Residential Contractor License and carry $2 million in general liability insurance plus full workers' compensation coverage for all employees. We're also BBB Accredited with an A+ rating. We're happy to provide proof of insurance and licensing before any work begins.

Question 6

Do you pull permits for remodeling projects?

Accepted Answer

Absolutely. We pull all required permits for every project that needs them — structural work, electrical, plumbing, roofing, and additions all typically require permits in Texas. We handle the permit process from start to finish, including scheduling inspections. Never hire a contractor who suggests skipping permits; it creates serious liability and resale issues.

Question 7

Are your subcontractors licensed?

Accepted Answer

We use our own in-house crews for the majority of our work. When we do bring in trade specialists (licensed electricians, plumbers, HVAC technicians), we verify their licenses and insurance before they set foot on your project. You'll never have an unknown, unvetted worker in your home.

Question 8

How long does a kitchen remodel take?

Accepted Answer

A typical kitchen remodel takes 3–6 weeks from demo to completion, depending on the scope. A cosmetic refresh (new cabinets, countertops, backsplash) can be done in 2–3 weeks. A full gut renovation with layout changes, new plumbing, and electrical work usually runs 5–8 weeks. We'll give you a specific timeline in your written estimate.

Question 9

How long does a bathroom remodel take?

Accepted Answer

Most bathroom remodels take 1–3 weeks. A simple refresh (new tile, fixtures, vanity) can be completed in about a week. A full gut-and-rebuild with new plumbing rough-in typically takes 2–3 weeks. We schedule work to minimize disruption, especially if it's your only bathroom.

Question 10

Will I need to leave my home during the remodel?

Accepted Answer

For most projects, no — you can stay in your home. We seal off work areas with dust barriers, clean up at the end of each day, and maintain access to essential areas like bathrooms and the kitchen whenever possible. For very large projects or full home renovations, we'll discuss the best approach during the planning phase.

Question 11

What happens if unexpected issues are discovered mid-project?

Accepted Answer

It happens — especially in older Texas homes. If we discover something unexpected (water damage behind walls, outdated wiring, structural issues), we stop work, document what we found, and walk you through the options before proceeding. Any change to the original scope is presented as a written change order with updated pricing for your approval. We never do additional work without your sign-off.

Question 12

How much does a kitchen remodel cost in Texas?

Accepted Answer

Kitchen remodel costs in Texas typically range from $15,000 for a cosmetic refresh to $80,000+ for a full custom renovation. The biggest factors are cabinet quality, countertop material, appliances, and whether the layout is changing. Our estimates are itemized so you can see exactly where your budget is going and make informed decisions.

Question 13

How much does a bathroom remodel cost?

Accepted Answer

Bathroom remodels in Texas generally run $8,000–$35,000 depending on size and finish level. A hall bath refresh starts around $8,000–$12,000. A master bath with a custom tile shower, freestanding tub, and double vanity typically runs $20,000–$40,000. We offer options at multiple price points to fit your budget.

Question 14

Do you offer financing?

Accepted Answer

We don't offer in-house financing, but we work with homeowners who are using home equity loans, HELOCs, or personal loans. We can provide detailed written estimates and project documentation to support your loan application. Many of our clients use GreenSky or similar home improvement financing programs.

Question 15

What payment methods do you accept?

Accepted Answer

We accept check, ACH bank transfer, and all major credit cards. Credit card payments may include a small processing fee. We do not accept cash-only arrangements — all payments are documented and receipted for your protection.

Question 16

Do you warranty your work?

Accepted Answer

Yes. We provide a 2-year workmanship warranty on all labor. If something we installed or built fails due to our workmanship within two years of project completion, we'll fix it at no charge. Material warranties vary by manufacturer — we'll provide documentation for all product warranties at project closeout.

Question 17

What if I'm not satisfied with the finished work?

Accepted Answer

We do a final walkthrough with you before we consider any project complete. If there are items that don't meet the agreed-upon scope or quality standard, we address them before final payment. Our goal is that you're genuinely happy with the result — not just that the job is technically done.
